At around 7:30 am today an officer stopped for a rooster, (yes we said a rooster) crossing 2nd St. S in a marked crosswalk. With no law violation by the rooster, and nothing seeming afowl, as well as being impressed that it crossed in a marked crosswalk, the officer allowed him to move on about his morning business. A short time later, the rooster decided it needed to start its day with a cup of coffee and was located at the drive thru at Liquid Assets.
Upon being ordered to stop, the rooster decided it was in his best interest to attempt to elude Sartells finest. A short foot chase ensued, and with the help of Sartell public works and the MN State Patrol, the rooster was apprehended and taken into custody.
We have now answered the question as to why chickens, and roosters for that matter cross the road……to get their morning cup of Joe. 😁
